For the “Sweeeet 16” of the annual fundraiser auction, Small Scale Work For a Larger Cause (SSWLC), SAY Sí celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2013 with live music and inspiring cuisine from some of San Antonio’s top chefs, including Chad Carey of the Monterey, Jason Dady of Tre Trattoria, Johnny Hernandez of La Gloria and Stefan Bowers of Feast.

Small Scale began in 1997 as a way to help raise funds for SAY Sí’s tuition-free programs. Initiated by local artists, the first event included only 26 participants who contributed a small piece of artwork for patrons to silent-bid on. Today, the tradition and spirit of the original event endures, with more than 200 local, regional and national artist participants. Small Scale continues to be SAY Sí’s single largest money-raising campaign, with 100% of money raised going to student programming.
